"An assault on Swedish democracy: Threats and violence targeting Muslim congregations is an issue of human rights and democracy", writes Mattias Gardell in Aftonbladet
Attacks on mosques and Muslim communities are attacks on fundamental human rights and the constitutional law that upholds the Swedish government.
A new survey conducted by Mattias Gardell shows that 6 out of 10 mosques have been subjected to physical attacks; that two thirds of the country’s Muslim congregations have received threats; that 8 out of 10 representatives of Muslim congregations experience the Swedish mosques being exposed to physical threats and intimidation. These alarming numbers are not compatible with the constitutional law and must be seen as an issue concerning the society in whole.
